Maggie Sposato

Founder + Director

Based in New York City, Maggie Sposato has dedicated her life to the Arts. While earning her degree at Fordham University Lincoln Center, she trained at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Program, along with other esteemed programs such as Broadway Dance Center, STEPS, and Peridance Capezio Center. As a professional dancer and choreographer, she performed and trained with several NYC professional companies. Throughout Maggie’s inspiring journey, while wearing many hats as an instructor, choreographer, dancer or producer, the path towards the creation of Unique Movers Dance evolved. Maggie’s passion for dance, teaching and working with dancers of all abilities, became the foundation of this program.

In 2018, Maggie founded Unique Movers, an inclusive dance organization that combines movement and accessibility for people of all ages and abilities. She also teaches at GiGi’s Playhouse NYC, where she recently participated in the Gigi’s Fashion Gala and continues to offer classes each semester. Her work has extended to creating events for The Abilis Foundation, Angela’s House, iDance4aCURE, Team Nikhil Foundation, Special Olympics, The Brooklyn Nets, The Abilities Expo, The Dance Teacher Summit, Dance is Life Summer Tours, and so much more. Unique Movers Dance is a 501(c)(3) and proudly in its 9th year!

Maggie is also the Executive Producer of the documentary “P.S. Love, Robby,” which explores her uncle’s journey as a neurodivergent aging adult. Directed by Brian Thomas and Brian Rubiano, the film has recently received awards at the, Over the Rhine International Film Festival and was selected for The Hayden 5.0 Film Festival, and also received many other notable recognitions and awards. “P.S. Love, Robby,” is a a beautiful story of strength, growing older and navigating life on the spectrum.

A true creative at heart and a believer in the power of art to unite and heal, Maggie continues to share her passion for community, dance, and music to create change and inspire others!
